An idea that turns waste into value.
Anatolia Aktif Kömür: since 2011, in Düzce Cumayeri, we have produced high-quality activated carbon from hazelnut shells.
Transformation
From shell to activated carbon.
The journey of a hazelnut shell into porous activated carbon. Scroll down — the transformation is at your fingertips.
From 2011 to today
Welcome to Anatolia Aktif Kömür
We began operating as Anatolia Aktif Kömür in 2011. Following intensive R&D carried out in Germany, we succeeded in producing high-quality activated carbon from hazelnut shells.
Every year, 300,000–400,000 tons of hazelnut shell waste arises in Türkiye, and these shells are usually burned as fuel. We turn this waste into ecological, clean activated carbon — and we have patented the activated carbon we obtain from hazelnut shells: Turkish Patent NO: 2012/02871 B.
Our production takes place in our indirect-heating stainless steel kiln developed with German technology. With this approach, we achieved a first in Türkiye.

Why us?
Four promises, kept in every batch.
Continuous and Fast Supply
Our professional production processes ensure an uninterrupted and reliable supply chain.
Quality and Control
After production, our products undergo detailed testing to ASTM standards in our own laboratories; results are reported for every batch.
Natural Solutions
Our environmentally conscious production processes and materials from renewable sources are an important step toward a sustainable future.
Customizable
Every project's needs are different. We produce in the dimensions or forms you want, to the specifications you need, offering you the most suitable solutions.
Engineering approach
We run the kiln by calculation, not intuition.
We treat our production line as an engineering problem: the heat and flow distribution inside the kiln is modeled with a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach; process parameters are optimized according to these analyses. The result is a repeatable pore structure from batch to batch.
